• Who Says Talk is Cheap?

Believe it or not, I have already marked my first month anniversary at the WSCCI and I just can’t stop talking about the amazing experiences I have already had in just a few short weeks! Meeting many of our members at the Member Appreciation Bash where, together, we celebrated the value that your businesses bring to the nine diverse communities within this region, was DEFINITELY one of the highlights thus far. I was very impressed to learn that more new members joined WSCCI in the past three years than in the last five years before that! Continuing my experience at the 51st Annual Teacher and Administrator Breakfast illustrated just how much education and business go hand-in-hand and how important it is for us to work together. I managed to top off my first month on the job with a connection to one of the many chamber committees, the Women in Business committee, which focuses on providing resource-rich support and expanding professional development services for women and minority-owned businesses. All of this (and more) just goes to show that because of you, together, we are advancing the health and wellness of businesses within this region and I’m so excited for the opportunity to be here!

Speaking of opportunity, this week celebrates National Chamber of Commerce Week and we’ve decided that instead of tooting our own horn, we want you talk about yourselves. That’s right! Don’t be shy or modest. This celebratory week recognizes not just what chambers or business-focused organizations do for the community, but rather what you continue to do to help our region remain healthy and vibrant.

Send me an email with a story or quick line about your business, connections within WSCCI, or anything else you feel like sharing. Post comments and like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and connect on LinkedIn I know you all have a lot to say, given I’ve heard everything from “My business does such and such and you should try it!” to “I have another great idea for you guys to help the business community!” to “We’re members of the Chamber so that we can better help to …”.  Whatever you end up sharing, I know it will be cool and impactful. And the bonus is that we will put YOUR name into a drawing for either $100 off your 2017 membership dues or offer you a marketing assistance plan from yours truly ( $200+ value)!

So brag a little … or a lot and help us celebrate this week that recognizes you! On behalf of the WSCCI, thank you again for choosing to be part of this prosperous community of thriving businesses.
