West Suburban Chamber of Commerce Announces New Board Members

Hodgkins, Illinois. The West Suburban Chamber of Commerce & Industry elected two new members to its Board of Directors to add experience and industry knowledge. In addition, a new Vice Chair was selected to fill an open position. These members add to an already highly respected lineup of diverse industries and geographic locations for the regional chamber.

    The new board members are:
Michael T. Jurusik, Shareholder and Director, Klein, Thorpe & Jenkins, Ltd.
    Scott Stephens, President, Proxit, Inc.

Kathleen Brannigan, community relations director for the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership, was voted in as the Vice Chair for the remainder of the year. She replaces Michael Murrill, of AMITA Health. Brannigan has served on the Board for several years and her workforce perspective has been invaluable.

“We welcome our newest members and thank them for their commitment to the Chamber,” said Rita Haake, center manager at College of DuPage Center for Entrepreneurship and Chamber Board Chair this year. “We look forward to their insight and leadership.”

In addition to running a full-service business technology firm providing guidance and support, Stephens was a 2018 recipient of the Chamber’s Regional 30 Under 40. He also serves on board of A Silver Lining Foundation. Jurusik is a member of the American Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association and the International Municipal Lawyers Association. Additionally, he serves as counsel for the Boards of Fire and Police Commissioners in the Village of Westchester, Village of Western Springs, City of Park Ridge and Village of Maywood and Village Attorney for the Villages of Maywood and Western Springs. He has assisted with Chamber meetings including the 2020 State of the Region and the 2019 Health Fest panel discussion last year on recreational cannabis.

"We are excited to welcome these respected leaders to our already stellar board,” said Suzi Wirtz, president and CEO of the WSCCI. "They have already both been tremendous contributors and each brings a wealth of business experience that will strengthen our board and help us achieve our goals as we move forward into a new normal."
