Committees
- Legislative Affairs Council – Meet and develop relationships with key legislators and municipality leaders to maintain a strong political voice for business in our region. Assist with coordination of Legislative Forums and Municipalities Conferences. The committee meets monthly.
- Ambassadors / Membership Development Council – Divided into two divisions, the Recruitment Division Encourages businesses to join WSCCI. They develop techniques and plans to obtain new members; Make follow-up calls to prospects; Develop and participate in Membership Campaigns. The Retention Division participates in efforts to retain members by assisting them in getting the most value from their membership. They call on new members to answer questions and serve as "buddies"; Facilitate networking at events; and develop plans to help improve member participation and involvement. The committee meets monthly.
- Annual Awards Gala Committee – Recognize individuals and businesses who have made contributions within our community and help coordinate this spectacular event.
- Construction Services Committee – Attend monthly meetings and interface with other business men and women that represent many of the trades and services that are available through the chamber. Put on “showcases” and receptions that involve chamber members and the public.
- Expo Committee – Help coordinate and promote this event that provides an opportunity for members of the chamber to market their goods and services to the community activity. Local employers may be invited to meet, interview and distribute job openings and information to prospective employees at all levels.
- Holiday Luncheon Committee (December) – Help coordinate the most festive luncheon of the year. This is also the annual meeting for the membership of the West Suburban Chamber.
- Golf Outing Committee (June) – Have fun coordinating this annual outing which is the highlight of our summer events and our largest fund-raiser. You can participate even if you do not golf.
- Business-Education Partnership – Cooperation between educators and business is vital to ensure the development of a well-prepared workforce. Help create partnerships between businesses and schools. Assist with the coordination of the Annual Teachers Welcome Breakfast.
- Health & Wellness Committee - Provides networking and marketing opportunities for members who are in the health and wellness industry. Also, share knowledge and referrals; and coordinate events, educational forums and communication materials of benefit to the members.
- Holistic Healthcare Council – Assist in sharing information on alternative forms of healthcare. Put on information seminars that are open to the public.
- Council of Nonprofits –Many local organizations are represented on the council that meets for the purposes of: Collectively market the value of nonprofits to local businesses; sharing common knowledge; developing meaningful partnerships; and help to market programs, events and needs.
Participation in a committee is open to West Suburban Chamber of Commerce and Industry members. There is no cost to participate.
